Who I am

This website, mphprofiling.com, is run by Mike Holden, who trades through Data Wizard Academy Limited (company number 14785922, registered office 17 Highfield House, 44 Beechfield Road, Stockport, SK3 8SF). That company is the “data controller”, which means it decides how your personal data is used. In this page, “I” and “me” mean Mike Holden and that company.

You can reach me at mike@mphprofiling.com about anything on this page.

What I collect, and why

Enquiry form. Your name, email address, the club or organisation you give (optional), how you’re enquiring, and whatever you write in the message. I use it to read and reply to your enquiry. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering people who contact me, and taking steps you ask for before any contract.

Waiting lists, trial requests and similar forms. Your email address, and your name or choices where the form asks for them. I use it to tell you when a course opens, to set up a trial you asked for, or to follow up personally. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by sending the form and can withdraw at any time.

Newsletter. Subscribing happens on Substack, not on this site. Substack holds your email address and its own privacy policy applies to that.

Payments. Checkout is run by ThriveCart, with Stripe and PayPal processing the payment. I don’t see or store your card details. I receive the record of your purchase (your name, email, what you bought and when), which I keep to deliver what you bought and to meet accounting and tax rules.

WhatsApp. If you’re a Blocks member and message me on WhatsApp, I hold your phone number, your name as it appears there, and our messages. I use them to run your membership and to send broadcast messages to members. The legal basis is the contract you’ve entered into and, for broadcasts, your consent, which you can withdraw by telling me to stop. WhatsApp is run by Meta, whose own privacy policy applies to messages on its service.

Everyday web data. Like any website, the hosting company records technical information such as your IP address and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.

Enquiries are treated as confidential. I don’t name clients and I don’t pass what you tell me to anyone else, except the service providers below who handle it on my behalf.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and it loads its fonts from its own server, not from a third party. If you follow a link to Substack or ThriveCart, those sites set their own cookies under their own policies. If I add analytics later, I’ll update this page first.

Who else handles your data

I use a small number of service providers: Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Google Workspace (email), Substack (newsletter), WhatsApp (member messaging), and ThriveCart, Stripe and PayPal (payments). Some of these are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where that happens, they rely on approved safeguards for international transfers. I don’t sell your data and I don’t use it for advertising.

How long I keep it

Enquiries: up to two years after our last contact, unless we start working together, in which case I keep what’s needed for the work and for my records. Waiting-list and trial details: until the course or trial has run and you’ve had the chance to join, or until you ask me to remove them. Purchase and accounting records: six years, because UK tax and company rules require it.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how I use it, or send you a copy you can move elsewhere. You can object to my using it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email mike@mphprofiling.com and I’ll respond within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. I’d prefer the chance to put it right first.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, I’ll update the date at the top.
